Description I wanted to do another Elsa piece once I saw the movie and got to know her character more. My first piece was just for fun.
This piece is much more serious and full of emotion. I wanted to create a scene of my own that still felt like the movie. I wanted to show a moment for Elsa in the early part of coronation day where she felt overcome with sadness and regret. Regret in all the time that she didn’t get to spend with her sister. Thinking of all the fun they could’ve had together, and how much she really wanted to “build a snowman.” I also softly put the ship representing her parents; another aspect of family that she missed out on growing up.
I wanted to show this torn feeling between hiding her powers and just “letting them go.” I wanted to show her powers as well as her memories and remorse. So I combined the two. As far as the background, I HAD to use a door to reference the cutest scene from the film.
I also revamped and accessorized her gown a little. I did more of a Snow Flake pattern on the chest part rather than the floral print, but I wanted it to still look and feel like her dress.

No it wasn't. It wasn't anybody fault. It was just a bad situation.

I'm defending them because it's the truth. What would u have done if one daughter got hurt, the other daughter would be hunted down if anybody knew about her magic and if you are the rulers of an entire kingdom who depends on you and your daughter could accidently hurt someone by accident with her magic? It's easy to judge but difficult when you're in the same spot.

Also, you're overlooking that the seperation was never going to permanent. Anna even mentioned to Kristoff that her parents warned her to not talk to strangers. Why would they tell their very sheltered daughter that if they were never planning on reopening the gates?

Well mistake or not, the parents were still trying to do their best and weren't out to hurt anybody. You shouldn't hold it against them, especially since the film had a happy ending. You can say that they protected Elsa until it was time for everybody to find out. So, in a way they did played a wonderful role.

I'm glad someone does! I honestly thought Elsa was way too cold too Anna. I get that she was supposed to be distant but there was a disconnect between that and the sister that supposedly loved anna. I never really saw that loving side of Elsa i yearned for. i also wanted more sisterly love moments. I just thought the heart was missing in this movie.

I see where you're coming from. The emotion mainly comes from the songs and simply empathizing with the characters.

The simple visuals in Do You Wanna Build A Snowman? are cute on the surface but morose in their depth. Anna is young and playful, so it's only natural for her to want to be with her sister, especially because she has all these fond memories of the two of them playing together. Elsa shut out Anna for a reason; she remembers nearly killing her sister. Anna recalls being abandoned by her sister for no reason at all. It becomes truly emotional when their parents die, and Elsa is the only one who could possibly understand how Anna's feeling. She needs support from the one person who can't provide it.

Later on, in the For The First Time In Forever reprise, you can see just how much Elsa loves her sister. Anna tried to apologize and she brushes it off, no longer afraid of hurting anyone. She kindly tells her to go away with a sympathetic smile on her face, insisting Anna will be happier living the life she always wanted. Anna loves her sister just as much, so the part in the song when they're singing over each other shows how desperate they are to make things right. Neither of them knows how to do that because they can't agree on a solution.

And let's not forget Elsa sobbing and clutching Anna's frozen figure while everyone stands there in painful silence. You think she's actually dead. This poor girl that was just trying to bring her sister home - her sister that shut her out for years.

So you're right, a lot of the struggle occurs off screen. It's the subtle moments in between that allow the viewers to empathize with the characters.

ehhh. I like powerful, moving dramatic emotions, that's what makes a good movie. That's makes me empathize with a character is feeling their powerful emotions. Delivering the tragedy effectively. They weren't powerful enough. They just scratched the surface, barely.
Its funny, they're usually really good at emotions in disney. whoever directed frozen or the writers, they just didn't cut it.
If they had explored the girls emotions more deeply, that would've been what the movie needed. Like, maybe how Anna doesn't feel any honest resentment or hurt towards Elsa for abandoning her. Just a little more human emotion. I think that got lost in the weak storyline.
I think the storyline was probably the biggest mistake, or at least some elements of it. It didn't allow enough heart.

Very good job! Yeah perhaps she was doing that all the time in her room cause Elsa knows she was missing Anna like Anna was missing Elsa all that time.

You certainly a lot of time into this. This is an extremely detailed and very emotional picture. It showcases Elsa's powers as well as her sadness. It's actually making me tear up a little. I want to give Elsa a hug and tell her that everything will be fine. I'm adding this to my favorites.

How long did it take you to make this?
