I've had this image saved for a couple of years I think, so many thoughts pop up just looking at this picture.

Essence of Dad. That's how it works. No need for faces or words. Thank you.

There is nothing that a little girl needs more than a dad.Β Someone who battles monsters, keeps fear far away from her, as she looks to him for protection and guidance and hope.

There is no length to which a dedicated father wouldn't go to protect his child. This image sums up that feeling perfectly. My hat's off to you.

The concept (picture+title) alone is worth the DD.

I absolutely love this. It's definitely Daily Deviation quality, in my opinion.
Your style of shading is interesting and exquisite, the lighting fits the dramatic tone in a wonderful way, the details are fabulously done and in a good quantity without being too much, the postures and colors give life and wonderful expression without even showing facial features, and the whole thing is just telling this wonderfully badass story - I only wish I knew what that story was.
Perhaps I'll have to write it later.
At any rate, bravo, and keep up the good work!

It did start out as a speedpainting for a topic called Warden. So initially it was a knight protecting a child. I think the picture takes on a more personal note by titling it "Dad" though. Maybe this is how all parents feel sometimes protecting their kids from the world

thankyou. I do have to work in greyscales first to get that right. The people that can work straight into color amaze me.
