thanks (light through ears is one of my fav things!) usually it just takes a dark browny red on a color dodge layer to get the effect

Ah, okay, that makes since. I’ll have to try that out on a painting or drawing of mine sometime. I always forget little details like that sometimes. But I really appreciate it when I see it in other’s paintings
