A crowd of happy students went out the high school as the bell rang.
Alex was amount them. He was fifteen years old and his talkative nature made him chat with a lot of his classmates. He had black hair, grey eyes and was wearing glasses with large frames.
As he walked on the street he saw a junior student he had spoken with a few days before. His name was Matthew and he was really nice, quite a bit shy and, as he loved reading, he always had interesting things to share.
'Hi Matthew!' He said going toward the brunette. 'Mind to walk together?'
'Oh hi Alex! Sorry, I'm waiting for Emma' answered Matthew. 'We're going on a date.' He added, blushing behind his freckles. Alex laughed at his embarassement.
'No worries mate. Have fun!' He said leaving his friend here and walking to his home.

On his way he chatted with a group of boys and girls, talking about silly things, the teachers or the homeworks they had to do. Eventually, they split up, Alex having to turn left in a small street while the others went forward. After saying goodbyes, he sped up his pace. He didn't really like to be alone. Of course, sometimes it was relaxing but that day he wasn't in the mood. He knew his mom was home and couldn't wait to go there and talk with her, maybe even helping her to make dinner.

Oblivious, he didn't realize he was watched, nor he noticed a van on his left as he walked out the street to a larger one.
Everything happened really quickly. The back doors of the van were already opened and Alex let out a small scream of surprise as a masked man came from his right and tackled him, making him climb into the van. An other man was inside and he locked the doors, yelling at a last one to start the vehicle.

Upon realizing where he was and what had happened, Alex tried to stand up only to be reminded there were two men with him, included the one on top of him who promptly handgagged him. Alex was on his stomach ans his position didn't allow him to fight back properly. He felt his backpack being removed, as long as his phone taken off his pocket.
He tried to elbow the man on top of him, who was clearly heavier, but didn't succeed due to his situation. Both men pulled his hands behind his back and locked cuffs around his wrists.

Alex started to scream at that moment, from fear and desperation, but he knew he couldn't been heard by anyone outside the van. The hand was helding strong on his mouth and the noise of the vehicle's engine drowned his voice out.
The men moved him to a sitting position, the handgag not moving an inch. As the man behind him used a fat knotted bandana to pull between Alex's teeth, the other one, who was really tall, tied the teenager's ankles together with ropes.

Alex tried to fight both gag and ropes but it wasn't easy and he couldn't put enough efforts into fighting two things at the same time. As the knots were both tied at his feet and behind his head, he screamed louder, panicking, and squirmed like mad. In his terror, he didn't see the tall man coming near him and slapping him. The blow was so strong that his glasses flew off his face and he let out a cry of pain.

'SHUT UP!' The man who had hit Alex ordered. 'AND STOP STRUGGLING OR YOU'LL REGRET IT!'
At that very moment, Alex realized it wasn't a joke, a prank that someone could play to him. Nobody he knew would have act like that or do that to him. Afraid, he stopped his struggling but couldn't stop his voice to make frightened sounds. Especially when a bag made of black fabric was pulled on his head, blindfolding him.
He heard duct tape being unwind before feeling it being wounded several times around his head, on top of his mouth. Now his moaning could barely be heard.

When they finished applying the tape, they pulled Alex in a corner forcing his back against a wall and attached the cuffs to a small chain bolted to the floor. The 'click' of the chains being locked made Alex's heart skip a beat. He was definitely trapped. And then, there was no more fight. Nobody was touching, tying, chaining, gagging him anymore. He was left alone in his corner. Alone, bound and gagged.

Alex's head was throbbing, as long as his heart. His entire body was shaking and he pulled his legs to his body, curling up. He could hear Tall and Heavy , as he named them in his head, whispering to each other. He didn't dare fighting the binds. It would have been useless. The cuffs were tight and sturdy and Alex didn't like the sound it made when he was moving his hands. The ropes were so tight too that it hurt his ankles and the rag pulling at the corner of his mouth was painful too. Furthermore, the bag didn't allow him to breath normally and, in his state of panic, he would suffocate if he didn't calm.

So, slowly, Alex slowed down his breathing, closing his eyes to try to relax and forget the predicament he was in. After a long time, he managed to stay still, without shaking or making a noise.
After all, maybe it was really a prank. There were no need to panic. Right?
