When Foreign researchers first came to Alola, they believed for the longest time that this was an entirely different species of Pokemon. The Alolan Golduck is far more Aggressive and Territorial than its relatives in other Regions, jealously defending miles of River and Swamp with Poisonous Spurs on their Arms and Legs. Males will use their Thumb Spurs to “grease” up the Fur on their heads with Poison– the bigger and brighter the hairdo, the more fit the Male. Due to living in Murkier Waters, the Alolan Golduck has evolved true Psychic capabilities, of which they use to “see” their prey in the mud and muck.
