He said "The message of liberty, opportunity and justice is for all Americans, whether you wear a suit, a uniform or overalls, whether you’re white or black, rich or poor."

I've been experimenting more with geometric forms in my brushwork, especially in portraiture. In this painting I wanted to portray Rand Paul's moderate sensibilities in an artistic form, so I went for accenting structure to his facial features with shapes turning with the lit values, but balancing it out with loose brush strokes for his hair, a feature often spoken about (like with John F. Kennedy). A bit of an 'everyman' where the unkempt simplicity is juxtaposed with strongly defined features.
