Cooper here demonstrates her control of the Strong Interaction by generating fission in a pocket of atoms within a Nexus "Crawler," also known as a Caterpillar by the Planetary Army. She accomplishes this by pulling out some neutrons (using electromagnetic compulsion) in the air and compelling them into the Crawler to ignite a chain reaction. She can precisely control the yield of the explosion so it doesn't create a detonation big enough to threaten her forces, but able to annihilate a good chunk of her enemies.
