Description
I love Eugene Milton Judd. The idea of a little man whose athletic powers have been honed to the peak of human perfection warms my heart. Along with the tough-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold personality Byrne gave him back in Alpha Flight, I thought he was one of the freshest characters to come along in years.I didn't like it when OHOMU came along and said that he weighed 200 lbs. For one thing, that's physically impossibly for a man of his size and build. At 3'6" he';s the same height as actor Warwick Davis, but Davis weighs 55 lbs. Puck has a stocky and muscular build, but that's only good for about another 20% bodyweight or thereabouts, meaning he should be about 70 lbs at the outside.
Then, when Byrne left the book, they decided to make some unwanted and ridiculous changes to our hero. Now Puck had been a large man (6'6") who had been cursed to shrink because of a soul-draining cursed black sword. Why they had to rip off the Black Knight (and even more, Elric of Melnibone, for th unnecessary retcon, I don't know.
In any cawe, the version here is the Puck I love best. An incredible tough and athletic but very human hero with no magic, no high tech, just courage, heart, and an iron will.
Puck was created by John Byrne and is the property of Marvel comics.
