Description
With the show’s second season winding down, I’m taking a look back at particular characters that we at first labeled as antagonists or just rubbed us the wrong way, but have proven us wrong since.-Because I never gave up on him: Hunter
Upon learning that he was just a “bad but sad boy”, I had high hopes that he would come around and see that he was serving the wrong side. Every episode he was in showed signs of him being nudged in the right direction until it was safe to officially consider him a good guy. And I grew to like him more each time. Hunter is where he belongs now.
-Because they’re as nice as ever despite what they were caught up in: Darius and Eberwolf
Though they were originally branded as villains when they were introduced, this is a show full of twists and turns and it was quite a pleasant surprise that they only pretended to oppose Raine to help them work within the coven system to take down Belos. It’s might be possible they were actually loyal to Belos at some point, but as far as their screen time goes, Darius and Eberwolf never were villains to begin with.
-Because of his redeemable qualities: Hooty
He can be a pain in the ass but frankly, he can’t help being what he is and I think the others get that. They don’t seem to get that upset with him anymore when he makes a mistake and just seem to try to work around his eccentric behavior. Hooty is a true friend and just wants what’s best for everyone and I see no reason to hold anything against him.
-Because of a heartfelt apology: Alador
There’s a reason Amity wanted to specifically connect with just her dad because her mom was already a lost cause. Originally thought to be as sinister as his wife, it turns out Alador was just a victim of her corruption like Amity was. Upon finally realizing that Odalia’s influence was causing him to blindly follow her and neglect his kids, he chose to oppose her and swore to be better just like his daughter. I think it can be taken as a genuine apology.
-Because she saw the error of her ways: Lilith
Her redemption could’ve been done a little better but there were still believable reasons for it. All she truly wanted was to cure Eda and fix her mistake. The guilt of it plus the estrangement from her family made her cold and arrogant and willing to trust the wrong person. But it’s still understandable in a way. I can blame her a little for believing Belos would cure Eda’s curse, but not a whole lot. She was blinded by her desperation to right her wrongs and since she loyally served Belos for a long time and earned his trust, she must’ve felt like he owed her and that she could trust him back. And when she turned against him and let the right people into her life, she was back to being her real self. Lilith is cool now and is making the right choices in her life. And she as well as the fans couldn’t be more happy about it.
-Because I have: Amity
By now, does there really need to be an explanation for her?
