Description
Tried a few new things on this one, played alot with curves, channel selections and other unnecessary stuff xD.
Had a hard time controlling the colors, think they went too much "candy".
Anyways, learning by doing...

Hey, amazing work, congrats on making the front page!! This was one of the first things I saw when I came on DA this evening, ha ha. Cool landscape, I'd like to see shrooms that big myself. You think they might be hallucinogenic? If so, we could seriously mess up a few cyclops with 'em, it would make Odysseus's trick with the wine look like nothing. XD

I don't think the colors went too "candy" at all. There are a few places that look a bit too saturated (like the top of the figure and a few of the 'flowers') and don't blend as well, but that's just a minor thing. Don't be afraid to use bright colors, though! They're a lot harder to work with, but can really add a lot to a painting when done right.

very nice, think the image works very well as it is, I know it´s difficult to control color with photoshop tools, but you did a great job not to overuse it and got some really nice subsurface effects, maybe brighten up the water in the foreground to guide the eye and make a better connection from foreground to midground also because maybe the scattered light could pass through the foliages, but that´s maybe just personal taste of mine... keep it up!

Critts? wellll okay.
Overall, it is effective and a very pleasant piece to look at. I disagree that the colors went into "candy" territory, I think you used just the right amount of orange and reds to make it interesting without it getting crazy. I like the blueish hues you use in the near distance to increase the sense of atmosphere from the water in the air. Great use of light too.
My only real point of criticism is the mid ground plants (near or next to your figure). I feel if that area was a touch more refined in detail (the plants are very non-descript there) it would give a focal point of interest near your character. I realize you were going for a speed painting feel, and I understand you didn't want to render the scene in detail or lose the atmosphere, but perhaps giving that one area a bit more definition would have really sold the rest even better.

Wow thanks a ton for the awesome help! The point with the bushes makes perfect sense. Have to work on keeping a better focus on the detailing. Thanks again helped alot!
