Sadly, there is dust somewhere on the internal parts of my camera, and at apertures about 7.1 it gets pretty noticeable.

hmm i cant doesnt the 50D have sensor cleaning function? I dunno. My small 1000D has but to be sure I detach the lens and clean the whole body with high pressure nitrogene every month. 5 bar of N2 definately helps

Yes it does, but it hasn't work. I think it may be a smudge rather than dust. not sure.
I've been meaining to take it to best buy to have it cleaned :/
