Description
This is part of a collab withHe did the pencils/inks and i did the colors. I couldn't decided which of these two i liked best so i just decided to post both of them. I think i'm going to take a little break from the vintage look and try out some different coloring styles for my next pieces.

I'd go for the first one. It has drama that contracting to it's lively drawn characters.
Great work to both of you guys.

very cool, I like that you used the heroes that aren't regularly seen as opposed to ones we all know.
it's a really great piece, well done.

Haha seems like the color one is the favorite choice around here.
He's in sepia to not only give an old quality about him, but to also boost the other heroes since he's so big and they get kind of lost when he's colored. I like how it pushes him to the background.

but then put the red back on the BG of hawkman and then it works for me! or lightblue

I like them both as well....but something about the hues in the right one really hits home as a real vintage piece.

I really like both, I'm glad you decided to post both of them. I like the one on the left because it makes Hawkman seems more mythic and the smaller figures really pop. I like the one on the right because of the warm colors you used on Hawkman. The only problem with that one is the warm colors eat up the great effect you conjured with Spectre, which I totally freaking dig in the one on the left.
So I guess I can't decide either. Anyway, fantastic work on this Matt, really enjoyed doing this. We'll certainly have to figure out something else to do, maybe a little different for both of us.

Thanks Evan, glad you like it! That is exactly how i felt about them. I think if i had to pick one i'd go with the left, just because it has a little more pop to it and the effects come off better like you said. But it's a hard choice...
I had a blast coloring your lines though. I think something different next time would be awesome...can't wait.
