In the Riseverse, Man-Thing is Ted Sallis, a scientist who added the Alpha Gene to the Super Soldier Serum and then injected the resulting formula on his bofy. He mutated into the monstrous Man-Thing. Jennifer Kale recruited Man-Thing for the Midnight Sons, casting a spell on Man-Thing that causes anyone who feels fear to burst into flames once Man-Thing touches that person. Jennifer Kale faked Man-Thing's death so that Man-Thing could operate as a superhero without being hunted down by Tony Stark, S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Thunderbolts.

Heh. I always wondered what was up with those...they make him look like an elephant.
Ah, well...at least they keep him from looking too much like Swamp Thing.

Man-Thing is truly awesome. The worn and torn effect works so well here it adds character. I've got a few ancient 2000ADs that look like that and it takes an incredible piece of art and gives it a personality... I think I'm rambling.

This is just too cool How did you do the torn edges? Just a layered texture kind of thing?

I love the little addition at the bottom stating that they know the 'origin of those three dangly things hanging from his face'. It's classic xD
