This is a test. A very long, time consuming test. To put this into perspective for you guys, I listened to the ENTIRE Homestuck Soundtrack AND watched four episodes of Samurai Jack before this thing was even this complete.

To be honest I went way further than I had planned to for this, and worked on it about two and a half hours longer than I wanted to invest into it. Regardless, I am fairly pleased with the results.

So yeah, there's Future Dave, just kinda chillin', as cool dudes are known to do sometimes. He's still not entirely complete. The rig is essentially done and functional if not flashy or elaborate(I like flashy and elaborate things, especially rigs), but he has no facial animation yet. I haven't decided if I want to give him eyebrows or not. Andrew doesn't usually draw them on anything unless he needs to emote, so I think it might work fine without it. I learned and relearned a lot of techniques while I was working on this. It's been a while since I made something this elaborate or complex. Baking out the AO maps took me far more tries than I'd care to admit due to my own lack of attention to detail. However, when I did get them working it turned out for the better as a result of what I learned when I screwed up, so I suppose it worked out.

I was planning on keeping this a surprise, but I guess I want some recognition after working on this for so long. The plan was to make a /quick/ Dave mockup that vaguely looked like him from far away to have him run through my infernal(haha, I love terrible puns) LoHaC. I ended up figuring out /everything/, from how to model all the Homestuck kids relatively efficiently and more-over quickly, how to render them out so they look halfway decent, and that I've now resigned myself to making at least a few more, and probably CalSprite while I'm at it. Because I'm a goddamn masochist. Clearly.

This is what happens when I trust my whims.

It's nearly 5 AM and I have class tomorr-today...in a few hours. Awesome.
