Another were-soldier in the the series, from the same commissioner. This time a fox. His full beast form shows the least gain of stature and mass, even compared to most of the females. But, to make up for it he gets shown with some of their combat kit options. Guns always make you feel bigger

The general science in my mind is that as the animal phenotype becomes more dominant, and the lower legs change to the more digitigrade style, the 5th toe migrates to the underside. A little more animal-ish, and likely complete hogwash. But, we ARE talking about animal transforming soldiers here!
