like most people I really like your asthetic style, and I now know why, my favourite artist is sam flor..s, looking at this piece I can only guess you do to. Come on, give up the skinny, the tank on a head thing is a good reference to his work, right? No disrespect to you or your skills, I'm just bugging that I've turned into a tain spotter and have realised why I like your work so much. keep on keeping on

Yeah Sam Flores is a huge inspiration for me, i'm not trying to claim that having things connected to or coming out of characters heads is my idea - i've seen so many illustrators and artists use it. Sam Flores is just one of many, many who mess about with this idea! I am by no way to the level or standard of Sam Flores, I am still finding my feet so to speak, and experimenting with lots of different things (most of which i dont upload to deviantart because I want to keep the work on here relatively consistant.) thanks for the comment as I understand what you mean - I hope my reply has been of some help at all?

Thanks very much! I've sent all the work off and the gallery is up at the moment.. I cant make it over there unfortunately, although the launch seems to have gone well - they had some really good artists doing some live painting as well!

Don't get me wrong, I think your work is fantastic, but I just feel the turret is a little off. It looks a little simplistic, maybe it would've looked better if you'd worked a bit from a reference or something?
I dunno, maybe that's what you were going for, the simplistic approach works great on the buildings btw

I actually did work from a reference, I used the basic shapes from a techincal drawing of a turret that i found and simplified it down because I wanted to keep it a bit light hearted, I thought if it was too technical it might take the attention away from the character.. although maybe I haven't achieved this how I'd hoped.. thanks for the comment

Yeah I did, I looked it up after you mentioned it and I remember seeing it about, to be honest - it's just a photo of one of his existing pieces, isn't it? I dont think it looks that good.. Although i'm really going off Banksy anyway, I think he's really overrated.. did you know he won 'Best in the Arts' at the 'Greatest Britons 2007' award ceremony? That's rediculous... I was watching it and it was so obvious he was going to win. He's loved by middle aged upper class people who hate graffiti but liking him makes them trendy and modern... lol, maybe i've just repressed my jealousy of him.. haha sorry - bit of a rant!

Nah it's cool, he's the cliche street art guy to like; next to Shepard Fairey. Everyone knows about Banksy, but no one knows about Blek Le Rat..who Banksy completely got his style from.
