Description I am not sure why but I love how simple this painting is. It has very little detail besides the texture of brush strokes but it captures the feeling of mist in the rapids for me. I hope you agree. Enjoy.

I am really happy with the painting. And my friend who I painted it for also loved it. It turned into a really great birthday present.

So sentimental looking...a little melancholy...but so elegant.
Great pic!

There are 3 things I enjoy immensely on this:
1.The scales on the tail (i can't do digital paintings so little details like those thrill me to no end)
2. The simplification of the face
3.The juxtaposiotion of the two (detail vs simplicity)

Very enjoyable piece.

This painting was sort of inspired it was a truly wonderful experience painting it. I had just returned from the rapids and I just sat down and painted this. It was for a good friends birthday and he still proudly hangs it on his wall.
