Finally giving up the chase. Sure, she's probably going to be some hero and it'd be in the bad guy's best interest to kill her now...but they can't possibly know that.
Looks like not eating and continuously moving is catching up to Suzume.

I hope she'll be alright in the end... We actually never got to see what happened after she passed out in the first chapter, so I'm pretty worried!

Good page. The forest scenery look nice.
So, I realize she's getting sick from walking around in wet clothes, but is she in a colder climate? I mean, why doesn't she take a break from walking, hang her clothes to dry, and lounge in the sun... or perhaps she thinks that the military is still following her...
SO thought of another connection to Hensen. So Suzume's about 17 right? Hensen looks about 30ish... so he's too young to be her father, BUT long lost sister. That's gotta be it! She looks just like mom who ran off when Hensen was younger and had Suzume and died in childbirth. Dear old mother must of been a trollop so the father was unknown hence Suzume being an orphan.

So, if she is fourteen, then I'm going back to my first theory, long lost daughter. OR perhaps a niece...
