I really can't wait to know more about this Iwama and his evil plots (if any)...
I'm currently trying to figure the power of those collars, it could be shock but that alone won't stop a desperate person from escaping, there must be more to it!

Well, in any of those cases, its clear that guy is full of hate, because everyone he knew was killed by humans, kind of like how Sasuke's whole family was killed by Konoha's oligarchy and Itachi. This Iwama obviously does not know much about humans, can't distinguish between different classes, positions, religions, and social groups of humans, so he hates them all in general, and wants to mabke them all suffer. If Suzume can make him understand that she is not that different than him, that everyone she knew was killed, save one person, in the same way that everyone he knew was killed, he might show sympathy toward her and let her go. She still does have Hana to look after, after all.
