Hey there, I recognize your Tyandaga model, are you in The Rift Cafe?
Also, you're going to have to explain to me how you did that. Unless you're talking about the above right image of Twilight Sparkle, because that's not MMD, that's SFM.
Not that it really matters though, these models are not mine. In fact I have no idea if the MMD ones are heavily edited from KP-Shadowsquirrel's or not.
The japanese members of the MMD community pretty much ALL have a thing against editing and stuff and like to damage the community more than help it by pulling models when people don't follow their rules to the letter, even when they don't own the characters or original models. Many non-japanese members of the MMD community have also taken up this mindset (though the one used here is spesfically from a japanese bowlroll user).
As such I am none to eager to edit MMD models that don't belong to me and post stuff of the edited versions where the original creator/porter/editor would likely find my edits.
Besides, due to administrative lack of humanity in most social media websites (which involves a lot more than just the fair use issue) I'm not uploading to sites like Youtube Deviantart or Tumblr right now, only Zippcast and Zippcast is a video website, not an image sharing website, so I probably wouldn't have much need for this information any time in the foreseeable future.

The mmdc is shit due to illegal or repeditive edits that can be bland
Ever since tda came out people have been editing the shit out of the model when you cant even put tda parts on a different model but you can put other peoples parts on a tda model....

Yea, KP-Shadowsqirrel doesn't seem to care much how people use his models.
The one I used in this picture for Pinkie Pie was released by ttasattasa. I question whether or not they are heavily edited due to the...questionable face rigging. For a good example of this, look atΒ 9:49 of www.zippcast.com/video/d4859e5β¦ . Really though, the mouths in general just look completely weird.
I abide by the rules as much as I can but giving credit every single freaking time I use a model is just too much of a nuisance for me and like I said, being stingy about their models is hurting the community more than helping. After all, there's more than one reason why so many people use those tda models so much I'm sure.
I almost wish the creators of the models people make BS rules for when they don't own them or the characters would issue a mass C&D for fraudulent claims of copyright ownership. You see, as per international copyright law, you automatically claim ownership of everything you upload and only the uploaders themselves or a copyright claim can say otherwise (if it's an American website, then it's spesfically a DMCA claim but sites like Pixiv, Nicovideo and Bowlroll abide by Japanese law and DMCA is solely American and Japan lacks the same kind of fair use laws several western nations have, hence why Japanese companies are some of the most well known for abusing YouTube's copyright systems, they don't understand they need to abide by American law).
However of course, that would also ultimately hurt more than help even if the claims were made against people who already removed all their downloads, in which case they would only be able to take action against derivative works (images using the models) and that would be even worse.

The biggest thing i hate the most in the mmdc is when they make an illegal edit and dont even credit or worse sell the model.
Most of the people think only of them selves and dont care what happens
I loathe that type of people.
It sometimes get worse when you tell them that what they made/sell is illegal but as per usual you get hate from them plus the people who agree with the editor that i am playing the mmd police while i should have to play it if people abide by the set rules even if their bs
But they are not set by the editor but by the original creator.
I dont create that much original work ( yet ) but stuff like thats make me wanna stop giving people partsΒ

Seeing as that wouldn't directly effect me I don't care so much unless there was a model I wanted that costed money.
As an aside I really want those Sega Hard Girls models that came with a japanese PC magazine but the MMD community has a thing against distributing commercial models even when they're painfully difficult to obtain. Though maybe I can ask the guy in charge of Samuraibuyer to sell the issue they come with to me or something. I don't really have the money for that at the moment though.

with the models it usually depends on the rules set on them
if they have a rule that allows people to share them its pretty much always good
there was one person on DA that usually linked models for download ( as in showed the model in a image and have a link where you could find the pass / download location Β )
but i sadly forgot the name xD
i think people wise that they need to be a bit less selfish and think about others when doing something against a set rule.
if you don't do it on something that you cant hold on to i sometimes wonder if i will if it was for something real

Yea it's a real simple trick with the ambient occlusion settings. It doesn't use a toon shader though.

I think the third ambient occlusion setting is the one that makes models white with black outlines. I remember seeing an amazing video once that used this.
