According to his backstory, Camo was hatched at the roots of the Tree of Life, he is a Plant/Dragon hybrid that can sprout melons with the whip of his leafy tail. The melons tend to explode once ripe. Its basically how Fluttershy met him when he arrived in Equestria on the night of the Arrival.
