I never actually read the comic till just recently. It’s interesting looking at a comic from this time preyed, given how S9 E12 kind of contradicts it now. Or does it‽‽‽
If it doesn’t, then:
First of all: imagine getting abandoned by your parents _twice._
Second: imagine how Fluttershy must feel about Scootaloo’s “Foster” parents neglecting her for most of her life to go fight some monsters.

Actually, I think Rainbow dash is actually scootaloo's mother. Look at both of their manes and tails, they both look similar that way. I learned to observe closer at humans and animals that have some of the same colors and styles as their parents last year in grammer school and science class before high school this year. Some of you people are just blind. I think rainbow dash married that colt cameo in the episode "Tanks for the memories" at a young age before scootaloo was born in the show

In this comic Fluttershy is Scootaloos birth mother, but she was too young and the father had left her. So when Scootaloo was born Fluttershy left her at the orphanage, but she regrets that she couldn't be there for her. So every year she buys a big present for her without a name and a smaller one with a name for Scootaloos birthday as her way to say that she's sorry, but Pinkie Pie saw her leave it there before the party and tells her that she won't tell any pony.
