It's a long time to reply to a comment, but I have to say you've got a really good idea with this.  Have an innocent-hearted boy that can stand up for his sisters have the ability to turn into a beserker.

Even more so when his sisters are Rarity and Twilight.....(I know well already that Rarity is not Spike's sister, but I could see Spike as wanting to protect her the same way he would be willing to protect his sister Twilight)
