How are these pages kept so clean, no erase marks, no nothing??

the biggest help is doing all the perspective at the layout stage, on a smaller scale. I draw it all out, scan it, print it at a larger scale (11x17 inches) then I tape it under my comic board. That way I have a trace-guide to work off of.
Other than that, I use a harder lead (H) which doesn't smudge a lot, I keep a piece of paper under my drawing hand so it doesn't rub the pencils, and I clean it up a little if it needs it, in Photoshop at the end.

Yeah, the fire and smoke looks fantastic! Very tricky for me to draw. All the firefighters have their own personality. Looks cool
