At A.D. 13588940, taking the time-machine,
we go back to 880453, this is the antiquity.
Mankind, how far you have progressed, all wonderful machines,
we put them at every rate to test. Full wonder we look at whatΒ
our ancestors through artifacts told, slowly we realize, some things are new, and some things in truth very old.

hehe, yeah. Max4ever indeed, 13 years now and still counting. Check the wireframe render in the gallery.

Holy cow! Looks great! What a magically strong computer you have toΒ have not to clash on so many vertices ? It's maknig calculations using the GPU, right? ^^ So it mainly depends on the Graphics Card processor? I'm under Win 7 with an eight-core AMD processor and Nvidia of 2Gb and I only played a bit with 3D in Blender and Sketchup so far
But I am scared of more complex geometry, because my previous Pc would go really crazy on me sometimes
I'm not sure what my current one can handle yet
Do you have problems rotating the scene, when there is so much geometry?

hmmm, depends on how you organize your scene really. For example, using instances instead of just copy/paste elements, doesn't kill your computer. Also, disabling textures while working gives you a boost in speed (just work with default wirecolor). And many more.
It's just a matter of knowing your tool, experimenting with the amount of polygons it can handle and use that info as a general guideline for future projects. I don't have speed issues with my scenes. Rendering it though,is a different matter Hope that helps.

Thanks! May I ask how long it took you to render the HD final scene here? (more or less)

Final render was done at 10.000 pixels height. Took around 14 hours
A normal HD takes around 40 minutes.

hehe, I just wanted an "old school painting" feeling to it, didn't pay too much attention to photorealism. But I'm glad you find it realistic. Cheers!
