Backstory:
A human turned Pokemon in the Pokemon World, Max is a Chinese college student in the human world pulled in with a task to save the Pokemon World from Dark Matter. He formed his explorer team with Cobalt the Pikachu and solved the issue with the spiritual remains of the legendary Mew by his side, along with the Expedition Society based in Lively Town on Water Continent.

After the Dark Matter vanquished, Max and Cobalt resigned from the Society and moved to a newly founded town of Vaiport on the southern tip of the same continent, where a new guild is founded and Max offered to be the guildmaster. That's also when he found and bonded with other humans who finished their own quests on other continents: Taiyou the Charmeleon of Air Continent and Chris the Buizel of Mist Continent. He even helped Locke the Snivy of Grass Continent solved the Time Gear Crisis.

Nowadays, Max continues his work as a Guildmaster of Vaiport Guild while actively runs around the world to solve issues. He shifts between human and Pokemon World and leads a smooth double life, until an enigmatic group of unknown invasion known as the Shadows threatens the Pokemon World, forcing Max to find a way to stop them with the help of other human teams.

Personality:
As a human, Max is shy and sometimes afraid to social. An inward young man with intellectual gifts. He prefers to keep things to himself while trying his best to connect, with little success.

As a Pokemon, Max is more open and a charismatic leader of his guild. Out on the field, he is smart and resourceful, likes to plan out his moves. But he's easily distracted and get carried away by his abilities, which often gets him into trouble. He can be reckless at times and puts the safety of others before his own.

His battle style involves speedy indirect combat. Would use any move he has that can give him type advantage, while his primary move is still Aura Sphere. Flash Cannon is explosive with metal shrapnel, prolonged Psychic use strains him mentally. Mega Evolves when he feels he can't win without, and he's cautious about his and his foe's power.

Extra: Normally he'd pin his explorer badge on his scarf. It's a black Sky-style badge with dark blue gem, symbolizing his current explorer rank.
