Tylo: A Mosasaur, my favorite animal. Named after the Tylosaurus, a type of Mosasaur.

Al: An Albertosaurus, aka “The Lizard of Alberta”.

Woody: A Great Horned Owl. Name after Woodsy Owl, the Public service announcement mascot.

Dexter: A White-headed Capuchin. Named after the monkey from Night at the Museum who is also a Capuchin.

Conker: A Squirrel Monkey. Named after Conker the Squirrel .

Buddy: A Pygmy Hippo. Named after a toy Hippo I had as a kid.

Sable: A Hopkinsville Goblin, alien creatures that caused a series of incidents in 1955 between the hamlet of Kelly and the small city of Hopkinsville, both in Christian County, Kentucky. Named after the Pokemon Sableye, who was inspired by the creatures.

Lepto: A Marabou Stork, a bird that eats carrion and also flamingos. Name comes from part of the scientific name, Leptoptilos crumenifer.

Babs: An Indian Flying Fox or Fruit Bat, one of the largest bats in the world. Named after Barbra Gordon aka Batgirl.

Ashi: A Giant Isopod. The name is actually random, I typed Giant Isopod into Google Translate to Japanese, saw the word Ashi and thought it sounded cool.

Gila: A Gila Monster. (Agent Epsilon from Secret Saturdays: And you call the Gila Monster, "Gila." How imaginative.)

Meg: A Green Anaconda. Named after reports of “Megacondas”, Anacondas that grow over 150 feet.

Lois: A Slow Loris, the world’s only venomous primate.

Carcino: A Crabeater Seal, which actually eats Krill, not crabs. Name comes from part of the scientific name, lobodon carcinophagus.
