Description
Now this was interesting; I drew out the sketch traditionally, then transferred it to digital and did more polishing in photoshop with a mechanical pencil brush and some multiply layers. This is fun. This is something I can do. I might do stuff like this more often. The question is, do I put this in the traditional or digital category?Β Β

How did you get the grey? Do you use markers or digital art?

It's digital. Well, it was a traditional sketch but I put digital brushwork and effects on top. For the gray, I made a black layer and used the multiply filter, while turning down the opacity. I also went on that layer and subtracted some from the background sky to provide contrast with the ground.

Thank you for the details. I'm new to digital art and it's very confusing to me at times. One of the reasons I joined deviant art was to find artists and their styles that I liked and try to imitate them so I could learn from it. I've been drawing for a while, just not digital art.

Maybe you could try it the other way around next time. Do digital, then print it out and do traditional.

I'd have to print it on paper I can draw on. I could sketch digitally, and then perhaps ink it traditionally.
