Some Rimworld sketchings that I'm actually pretty proud of. If I am to make this graphic novel a reality in the future, I can imagine Jin's character design evolving substantially over time, like some comics and comic characters do. I'm trying to draw him over and over and over so I can at least get to the best version of him for the time being, although I can't say that he won't evolve in the future. How does one control their artstyle so characters don't evolve too much after the design is established? One of the many weird things I wonder about sometimes.Also trying to think of some worldbuilding at the same time, something I'll be doing more of this semester. How does one find the balance between being inspired by a culture, and trying not to directly copy the culture?

Lovely expressions and details, as always. I do think this iteration of his design feels a bit... "safer" than some of your others. I'm reminded heavily of your drawings of Jeff, with the face markings/facial proportions/etc. Now, that's not a bad thing on its own, but I do miss the more slender features, larger ears, and the wispy/curly hair that was evocative of eastern cloud imagery. Just feels like the silhouetting has lost some of its boldness and sharpness.
