also, traditional vampire is not cannon but the vegetarian vampire is... great, now I'm confused...

Actually there is a hole in the logic, Fluttershy was artificially turned into a fruit vampire by being exposed to fallout from Twilights spell that was to stop the hunger of the bats.  Blood sucking vampires were never denied.

well now it's cannon for vampires to exist via magical accident (or intention)... kind of like Morbius from the Spiderman comics or Man-Bat from the Batman comics!
