Revision: I don't want to make the young versions of my characters too capable or resourceful just yet. So scrap the whole "they built her a leg" and it is now "Hey. We threatened a guy." This explanation just makes more sense to me, since none of my main characters are geniuses and are better at combat than construction. It also adds to the tension among the characters, their settings, and their personal struggles. How do they go about satiating their needs and achieving their goals?
