This is the USS Laffey,a survivor ship from a massive kamikaze attack. A great ship indeed!

I'm assumed "restored" , as there weren't any gaping holes in the hull anywhere

Oh yes,the Laffey served for many years after WW2,so it was extensively repaired after the battle
