That had to be one of the cutest animations I've seen in a while. I really like the way the phone looks, and slightly wish I had one that resembled it.

Hehee. Thank you. I think it wouldn't be so much of a trouble for some toy-company to build such phone. Though no-one would use it at these mobile days

how do you do that pastel material texture it looks awesome

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxon In reply to TheOnlyWarman [2006-03-27 15:12:25 +0000 UTC]

It think it's just a basic non-reflective color material. Dunno really for sure, in a short period of time I tend to forget how I've done anything before

Very impressive. That's something I would love to learn some day...

I would love to see a little round piece of the phone go rolling around to close the whole thing out. You know like when a coin rolls on its edge in a circle, and then finally flops down? I know nothing about the process, so I don't know how easy/complicated that might be.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxon In reply to brekke [2006-03-26 14:15:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the comment.
Yeah I know exactly what you mean with the closing. I even tried to do something like that in the film. You see, the dialing roll -part of the phone flies and sticks to the ground. Just after silence sets down, the round grip-part of the dialing roll falls down to the ground. It even makes a little sound. But clearly audience doesn't really notice that. It's so small detail in the movie. Maybe in the HD-version you'd notice it.

Haha That is a mad animation. Except it dosnt fit on one screen and when i stretch it over two screen the smaller half goes black

maxon In reply to vozzz [2006-02-21 11:06:33 +0000 UTC]

Damn! I knew I should've post links to the smaller versions of this video as well. I just thought everyone uses this HD-technology nowadays.

But anyway... doesn't the 'fullscreen'-option of your mediaplayer allow you to view it nicely? At least Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic does that nicely on a screen of 1024x768.

vozzz In reply to maxon [2006-02-22 06:58:52 +0000 UTC]

i got 1280x1024 and i saw it fin, just like a little strip was cut off. I jsut found it wierd how winamp wont let you stretch it across 2 screens.

maxon In reply to AxeField [2006-02-21 12:02:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you

Yeah, 3D-graphics tends to be too much of learning. You always should be aware of some weird technique to actually accomplish something. And man do I hate it sometimes. I just want to goddamn draw and model! Hopefully future would make it easier to make some 3D.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

maxon In reply to PsychoDoughBoy777 [2006-02-21 11:31:58 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, you bet.

But I sure made a huge mistake with a lot of technical stuff I used in that film, I was just torturing myself by animating the phone cord with one of the most absolutely idiotic way there is. And you know, after the film was done, I realized a whole lot easier and nicer-looking way to make the phone cord and the handset, but since the film was already done, had to go with it - If I had known the new technique at the beginning, the film would've been finished in half the time I now spent on it.
