Some would say it is a misfortune to be born an anti-vampire. A family of undead rejecting you just for being born alive. But for Bela the Nightless, a life of adventure is far more appealing than an eternity of drinking blood and slaughtering the innocent. Sure, he gets a vicious moonburn if he is out in the dark for too long, and has to spend every night huddled in a warm, fire-lit cave with cloves of garlic and blades of silver at his side. Sure, his breath might be a little harsh on the ladies. But garlic stew is wonderful, and so is being impervious to silver and wood when raiding a village. He would not go back to the darkness, not if the whole world came crumbling down.
