Description
COMMISSION INFO HEREDated August 2018.
Commission alert, please do not use or repost elsewhere.
Taco commissioned me for art with everyone's favourite metal-armed military boy.
This is a harmless, self-indulgent commission; please do not like/comment for content critique.
The commissioner is fine with me using it in my portfolio, and I am deliberately keeping it untagged.

I'm not sure I'm qualified to teach but I think you're getting there, man! I can see in your recent work that you're piecing out parts of the hair, and splitting the ends into thinner strands - that makes it look more natural. You don't really need the texturing lines in the middle of the hair, if you can figure out how to section the hair.
It might be easier to think of hair in chunks, and naturally separating at the ends, this one - Comm: Trishelle - shows that concept better. When I do curly/wavy hair, I usually do more detail and piecing, because the different chunks of hair curl and move in different directions. Drawing headshots for practice with actual hairstyle references (of real people) would definitely help you see how hair generally separates, and help with your ability to figure out those chunks too.
I can see you're on your way with the progress in your gallery, so keep going and learning! o/ Thanks for the fave!
