There's a long story attached to this shot. Please read. It's important.So here it goes.
Everything was calm. I took a pear out of the refregirator to take make a nice fruit picture as my good friend Francois Cote had done weeks ago (see his work : [link] ).
Then at the precise moment when I dropped the pear on the table something caught my attention. I felt a simple and gentle breeze on my cheek. Then I turned back to see if I let the window opened then I heard : **SNAP**, turned back again and then! DAMN! A ninja had cut my pear in to half.
I haven't seen a thing, I only heard the sound of the katana going through the juicy fruit. I'm not sure if you can see it on this picture, but it is CLEAR that the cut was made by a very sharp katana since the pear haven't even moved... And the cut is so clean. WHOA!
I'm lucky that he wasn't heading for my head.
Still I'm not sure why have he came my way... was this a warning from Francois not to try to make the same picture as him? Or maybe it's was a "ninjaesque" way to tell me that some people want to kill me? Or he was sent by the future to tell me that if I don't do anything, America will be torn appart by a second civil war (this is CLEARELY represent by the two part of the pear, top = north and bottom = south) the connections are all there... I just can't find what he meant...
Who knows... I'll have to be on my guards all time now.

Wow, I love this! I don't know if you've ever played "Fruit Ninja", an app for the iTouch/iPhone/iPad, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw this piece! Fantastic job.

Yeah, you gotta watch out for ninjas. Sure, sometimes they're helpful fruit-slicers (or unhelpful fruit slicers), but more often than not? Deadly assassins.

I just got a print of it.... My girlfriend has a thing for pears and I really like ninjas. In fact we play apples to apples at our party's all the time and no matter what the word is, if someone lays down the ninjas card when I'm judging... They win. So yeah... it's a wonderful compromise for us. Thanks for the piece.

Bravo, I love it. I want to fight a ninja someday. Not now, though, I'm not strong enough or skilled enough. I'll start by putting a pair on my countertop or something.

Thats a brilliant idea. I love the simple design and the white bg makes this piece so much more dramatic. One idea which could be really nice which I personally like in photography is when water is sprayed over the object to make water droplets. This gives a fresh feel to the piece.

actually that shot is like... 2-3 years old.. so I don't really think about it anymore.
but yeah, some water droplets would have been nice. though, it was more a kind of joke at first. I didn't really though about getting that much exposure with that shot you know.
