Description
This baby clocked over 78 hours of rendering at "Ultra" rendering quality. It has volumentric atmosphere and global radiosity turned on.I am quite pleased with how it came out in the end, even after I noticed that it could use higher poly trees. Ah, well, one learns from their mistakes.

Volumetrics are tricky but the results are worth the wait. Fantastic render!!!

Thank you!
Yes, they are tricky - you either get a fantastic render or something that looks totally fake. XD

I can imagine it would take a long time - volumetric stuff at that scale takes forever if you want to avoid ugly noise. Superb textures. I was playing with a similar scene with an aquiduct ages ago but never got anything good out of it - I should have tried something more like this! Great work

Gosh, yes. And my PC is only dual core with 3MB ram, it choked on this several times, but it did manage to render it in the end... after days of waiting patiently.
You need to render at a higher quality and push up the quality boost slider for the atmosphere, in order to get rid most of the noise. Whatever is left can be masked by the blur tool in PS.

It's all a time consuming process, that's for sure.
