Day 26 - Amazonite

"Alright, let's do a shark. I WANT to do a whale shark, but I've never been able to pull off that shape and colouration, so let's just go with more of a predatory shark look and personality."
*finishes piece*
"...That's a whale shark."

Well, no matter what kind of shark she is, she's still a mermaid, so we're now 5 days away from me being allowed to go to bed early again. I admittedly found this particular stone quite difficult to recreate, but I think that's more attributed to burn out than anything. (It's not hitting me hard yet, but it's creeping in around the edges. I have a 9 and 10 hour shift back-to-back coming up that I'll still need to do mermaids during, and I guarantee I'll be feeling the burn out then.) On top of that, blue-greens are the only colour that my scanner really struggles with (they'll scan in either blue or green, not in-between), so the digital version isn't a perfect recreation.

Amazonite is another one I have as a tube, but thankfully it broke down pretty easily as a dried pan so I didn't need to delve into it.

Not sure which stone I'll draw tomorrow, but I think I've settled on the creature they'll be based on, and all I can say is I'm not sorry. >
