Description
As long as you don't overdo it and don't fall into an obsession.I love clothes, shoes, jewellery and make up. I love looking like a very 'feminine'*, elegant girl. I like tight clothing that lets me show my figure. I don't feel it making me any less intelligent/less self-respecting. It's not the only thing I'm able to think or talk about - I still read REAL books, watch movies, watch the news and go to museums, just like any of us, you know. I don't care about my looks to whore around or anything. I just love looking all girly. And I love pretty stuff - especially when I wear it.
Don't get me wrong. I have absolutely nothing against tomboyish girls (in fact, I have something of a fondness of them. My best friend is a tomboy and she looks absolutely gorgeous with it... if only she realized it.)... as long as they don't look down on me only because I wear dresses and make up, and I spend a little more time in the bathroom (...ok, much more time) - and, reportedly, have no self-respect because of it.
Also, no, being a woman and caring about my looks doesn't make me an anti-feminist. If you think that a woman NEEDS to act like a macho man to gain any respect - God, do you really hate women that much?

*I put 'feminine' in quotation marks, because not only make up makes you look feminine. It comes from within.
P.S. I also adore GUYS who care about their looks.

I always make sure that I look good at home, work, school, & other places, cause I wear make-up to hide my acne(s)

This is soooo myself. I completely agree with you, especially in the part regarding tight clothes! I have a skinny figure and I just want to show it,not to be a "slut".

Why has it been okay for a woman to be masculine but not okay for a man to be feminine?

It's ok to care about YOUR look but why does some people have to always non stop talking about how OTHER people look and act....really this sucks..

I dress in both a masculine and a feminine way. Really, it depends on what day it is what I'll wear XD
But whether I wear boyish clothes or girly clothes, I always try and look nice. I like looking nice because it makes me feel good about myself
Like you, I do it for me and not other people.

Oh, I'd forgotten all about this stamp; and today I ranted on Tumblr about this picture and then I found your comment here. It's the same topic all over again, implicitly putting down women who care about fashion and looking pretty. And it saddens me, actually, that a woman can hate her own gender that much, to put down any girl different than her. :/
Yeah, I'm basically similar to you; I love wearing girly clothing, doing my hair, choosing jewelry and make up. But when I'm not going anywhere special, I just put on a hoodie, sneakers and I'm ready to go. There's nothing inherently wrong about either caring, or not caring about one's looks; and one is definitely not morally/intelectually better than the other.

Exactly! And what I don't get is why is the girl in that picture blonde? Honestly, why is the girly girl everyone hates always blonde while the tomboy is a brunette? It's just insulting to light-haired girls. I mean, I've known plenty of girlish brunettes and boyish blondes.
And, frankly, I hate all that 'tomboy' and 'girly girl' stuff in general. It's really a problem for those of us that are sort of in the middle. Although, I actually like calling myself a 'feminine tomboy' XD
That's because I like dressing up all girly and feminine-like but many aspects of my personlaity go more towards what you'd expect from the average tomboy such as my love of action movies and extremely gorey and violent video games

I'm brunette and I identify myself as a girly girl

Frankly, I feel like if I don't look like I look slobbish and lazy. Ungirlish things are kinda ugly and I totally agree there's nothing wrong with looking girly

Well, I think non-girly things can be fun too; but I definitely like looking smart and shiny, and I'm interested in fashion and beauty. And it has nothing in common with intelligence or self-respect, as some people like to think.
