Ok, well, I tried digi-coloring... I failed...I need more practice on shading, that's the thing I'm failing at. It's kinda hard when I don't know where the light would shine to make the shadows...
Time: 2-4 hours (2hrs each day for two days)
Lineart: ~ZiraUzu
Coloring (tried and failed): ~Mayks
Tutorial(s) Used: Lineart Tutorial by =sleyf
I promise to practice so I can get better!!
EDIT: dA hates me at the moment, that's why I can only upload JPEG pics, making the pic look all...weird. I'll try my best to put up the actual one.

For the shading thing, and your problem with not knowing where the light would be— if you don't know, make your own.

but ya, i think it's the best one i've ever colored...well, it is the first lineart i colored...

Aw, you didn't fail! This is actually a pretty good attempt! I love the colors you chose (but then again, it's Naruto and Hinata), and the background really fit the mood of the picture.
Shading it's all too bad, you just have to identify your light source. Once that's done, you shade anything that's far away from that source, as well as the side the light is not directly hitting on for wrinkles/ hair/ objects. There are such things as hard and soft shadows, as well as 'layers' of shadows- but I won't overwhelm you with those specifics yet.
I'm a bit iffy over the scratches on the skin though... I think I get that you're trying to make them noticeable. However, the scratch themselves wouldn't be bold and red themselves, unless their blood clots really thickly. But if that was the case, there would be about 1-2 more drips of blood running down from the scar. I don't think their blood clots that thickly, so I'd suggest using a softer brush and color over the scar with either a pinkish-reddish tone to show how the blood is 'rushing' (bleh, I don't know...) towards the injury. (either a softer brush, or lessen the opacity.)

I meant to say 'shading isn't all that bad,' meaning that shading isn't too hard to do. ._.'' Sorry for the mix up...
And sorry that I'm too harsh... OTL. I only critique those who I think have the potential to be the best at what they're doing, or in simpler terms, I want to help them improve. I try not to be harsh, but soemtimes it just comes out that way. D:
And don't say you fail! D:< It's great the way it is! I merely just pointed some things out as well as gave you some suggestions on shading.

ASDFGHJKL:" AH-NEE-MAY-SHUN?!? OwO That was my QUEST project this and last year (QUEST is a program that allows "children that go above and beyond" to research any topic they want and make a product out of it... it's like an honors class where you don't get graded and you can study whatever you'd like). Ish fun~ But don't you need get used to doing digi-art if you want to do it? (Unless you're using normal pencil and paper, but I have a feeling that you're referring to adobe flash).
Gah rambling is the only thing I excel at... OTL
