Description
As someone who has been using bold line art in her drawings for years, rendering without the use of prominent lines was an uphill battle for me. I've been wanting to try out a different look in my art, and I think the result makes it look more painterly. However I think I still need practice with this method, because overall working on this piece really tired me out.

Chun-Li in her SF V alternate costume. The general pose was referenced from a recent work by Artgerm; I often look to the masters to observe, learn from, and practice. I made a couple modifications to the costume, because I liked the concept, but I wasn't taken with some of the execution the designers made in-game. Honestly I felt the original costume was a bit too revealing for Chun-Li's character, as in, it it doesn't look like something she would wear. I added a back piece to the dress, and I made the dress slit not come up so HIGH on her hips, so the result here shows less of her lower region too. I do love dat hair, though!

Wanted to place her in an environment to put the piece more into context, so I went with an East Asian setting. I experimented with creating a colorful twilight sky and rendering water to add more mood to the piece.
