This looks like it required a lot of patience >.<

this is really lovely. The head and the posture of the twirl is so nice!
I feel like a longer rest/bouncy-floaty pause before the twirl would be nice, but perhaps it's the hand moving across that gives the illusion that she doesn't rest as much, as well as the speed of the hand moving being similar to the speed of the twirl.
One thing in general I think you can work to level up is the slower movements that will require many frames (almost identical- painful!) but is not a lot moving... just those rest, and ease out moments.
You and I have a similar animation style where we rather just keep things moving and moving. I think we both need to practice the really slow steady portions, and the ease outs. It's also easy to just "cheat" the ease outs with a couple frames and holding on one... but it just looks so much better with all the in-betweens in those subtle moving moments.
Second thing is, variation in speed in the twirl. It'd be cool to see your practice where she is spinning fast at first but slows down at the last turn instead of the really steady pace.
I hope I made sense.
Great work!

I HATE SLOW ANIMATION. XD

Fine, i will make this slower, and vary up the spin. *vary up the spin is easier than "slower"

SLOW= pain

I hate slow animation.

Actually i have a particular vision for this shot and its quite difficult to get that out. ver 2 is already drastically different from this ver 1.

This is amazing! Man, the things I could do if I knew how to animate.

Love the motion for this. As well as keeping the consistency. How many frames for this animation?

Ah!

Is it hard to tell when a fps is on 1s or 2s? Or just takes practice to learn and understand?

It just take practice. Once you start animating on your own you should be able to tell.

its just tedius, and you have to draw slow, it takes forever. I learned that JP animator spent average of 1 hour per drawing for anime.... -_- Each drawing is paid 2 USD. That means they work 1 hour for 2 dollars. For such excellence of skill, to be working with slave wages. Double *beeeeep* for me.

I thought ONLY DA amateur artist does that.

And I have to compete with that insanity.

It just take practice. Once you start animating on your own you should be able to tell. I see. I'll get started soon for sure so I can start understanding the mechanics.

That means they work 1 hour for 2 dollars. For such excellence of skill, to be working with slave wages. Double *beeeeep* for me. I had no idea that the pay was so horrible. I knew they would outsource to places overseas for cheap pay...but I had no idea it was that low. It's wrong and unfair. But I also didn't know that is an average to do each drawing. Gotta be patient and skilled to do that stuff for sure.

And I have to compete with that insanity. Well, just continue to train and work hard. You got the knowledge and the skills, with both having potential to grow tremendously. I know you'll do fine as you compete that insanity.

if they were drawing spongebob maybe the pay won't be that low because it's not hour rate, it's rated by drawings, the faster you complete it, the more money you make... but JP style takes much more time, and almost everyone worked in anime industry before, thus down to 2 dollar an hour. u_u

I like that little twirling motion lol!

It looks very smooth to me except for when she's doing the arm twirl to turn back around. It's smooth but is lacking cuz it goes smooth then BAM the frame is there (not really badly but maybe one more frame to make it smoother?). Well at least to me it looks like that, then again I am trying to train my eyes to be more noticeable with detailed with stuff so they're bound to be crappy and lie, lol.

you mean keep the same speed when she turns as she's falling?

CinnaMonroe In reply to mayshing [2010-06-07 19:31:39 +0000 UTC]

No when she's spinning around to face forward once again, right when her hand it going just about out of frame on the left side it seems to slightly jump, like it's not as smooth as it could be. But the speed with stuff is fine it just looks like there could be another frame when her arm is spinning to flip her back around to face forward before putting her hands together (lol I stared at it really hard so you might not notice or it might just be my imagination... it does all kinds of stuff to me :/)
