And I also like the flow panels alot for some reason
maybe its the way the orange meshes on and off
with the rest of the colors. Very nice use

Hmmm... the story behind this setting is actually very close to The Wild City's beginning story, where Lien ran away from his ever controlling father and ended up on the streets.

Wow. This looks awesome. Niiice details on the clothing and hair. I also really like how he's sitting and the look on his face. I think the lighting on his face has a cool effect and intensifies his expression. Good job with the textures, too. The background looks great, especially that cracked wall behind him.

Okay forgive me on the critique I'm about to give since you know I hate to give crits to my superiors OTL..
First off, (compliments XD) I really REALLY like how you utilized textures in this piece. The wall is amazing...how the paint looks chipped-off and all. The color variation is stunning too. You really got that done perfectly (in my eyes at least). It has a dead-feeling to it which seems like what you were aiming for?
For crits...I feel like the lighting and shading is really well done, but there is something about the contrast that feels weird. in the light area where Chris is, it seems like the shades are a bit too dark even though the light source is strong. I think it might be because it matches the shade in the shadow area -- it might make the shade feel too uniform and not enough contrast on the whole body if you know what I mean. I love how you painted his left arm though, the texture on the jacket makes it really look realistic XD. Also, the symmetry on the face looks a little off, but that might add to the feeling of the piece.
Hmm other than that, maybe the lighting on the face feels a little too contrasty despite the light source, but that's just me XD. Really nice piece, I know I saw the previews and WIPs on the oekaki board, but as always, I didn't say anything OTL sorry...

I will take to heart the problem about the shadow being too uniformed, but as for the piece, I will leave it in its current state, and keep your crit in mind for the future pieces.
I did a study of my own face with a similar lighting after this pic is done, and realized what else I could have done for the face.... but at the current stage, I don't plan to change anything.

Looks like you've learned a hell of a lot from your past experiences, and that is really good to see. As well as trying out different brush textures (different again from your usual style)
See a few funny things with the lighting like around the hair and the clothing folds are not too dynamic, but your starting to use reference and that has helped you heaps and has shown through.

oh wow. o_o this drawing really came to life. the shoe in the foreground looks much better... and the ground... and the wall... aaahh, i really have to reiterate the wall.... i love the rendering on that so much. And I really like the tiles on the ground. It feels so real . = ] such a lovely piece

The cracks on the wall look so real it is amazing..
Besides the little awkwardness with the wall (like the line that ran in an angle), everything else is soo amazing... and the final ground texture is so well done!

I had wondered, though, would there a little more light on two or three or the fingers/knuckles, like the far side of the cheek does? It's my only wonder as far as lighting goes.
