A fanart for 's original character, SpringFlower, and Autumn Moon, they are too cool to miss... X3 Her original work: [link]this is from one of her original manga series I enjoyed reading. ^^ These two are my fav.
The part I struggled with most was the caligraphy, I wrote it... yes I wrote it! T^T The form looks good, but I had to do alot of the adjustment in photoshop because.... 1) it was written on a separate page, 2) I messed up on alignment.
Other wise.... I really liked the form of the words I wrote.... I am quite happy with that since I am only a newbie in this caligraphy area of practice.

Impressive, the style is actually something of a departure from your usual drawing form, but the transition is seamless. The poses look great, the linework works very well, and while I don't know anything about Chinese calligraphy (or any other sort for that matter) the symbols look great!

I love it...Well, I like all your work...I would be surprised if you just made I line on a pice of paper and I still tried to find something poetic/artistic about it.

But I love this picture, nevertheless. And the caligrapghy looks AWESOME to me...I can't do any of that..I'm still learning the Hiragana and Katakana....which is extremely fun to me..^^ I'm trying to translate my japanese Naruto manga...

Then I Try to figure out WHAT it means..by what's happening in the pictures...I love pictures...
The great part about the whole thing, is that I've already seen the anime version of all the books I have...and that anime was subbed..SOOOOOOOOO I have a pretty good idea of what is going on..

You have certainly captured the essence of them. The colour enhances the overall effect, call it a synergy if you wish.

Hmm... I thought I had already commented on this picture, but that wasn't true. I probably didn't have enough time and quickly leafed through my message to know what was waiting for me. Anyway, I'll just give the comment now.
First thing: I can't give any help or good comment on your calligraphy. You consider yourself a newby. I have absolutely no idea what it's supposed to look like, so it would automatically look great even if you had probably messed it totally up. But I like that you've added it to the picture. You do that sometimes and it always fascinates me. I think it's wonderful that you can do this or at least try to learn it. ^_^
The picture itself seems to be different from your usual style, but that has probably to do with the fact it's fanart. I like it, though. Also the colours are, I think, splendid and very bright. Nicely done!

Interesting characters indeed, they don't look like the helpess damsel-in-distress types, looks like they know what they want and how to get it. Great use of colors! Everything seems to blend so well together.
You did a great job with the background making it look very Asian, especially the smoke coming from the pipe. And your Chinese caligraphy looks great! (Far far better than my scratches...)

whoa this is really nice, love the golden/yellow colours used in the pic and th characters them selves are really beautiful. could possibly use a bit more blue so that girl can fit into the environment a bit more but i see there is some slight touches of it in the sky. nice caligarpy work too!

Oh wow, this is exquisite... o__o I love the clothing~!!! The patterns are beautiful! The outlining is really nicely done, as if you did that with the caligraphy brush too. Your caligraphy is really good for someone that only started recently! You have great balance within the individual characters as well as consistency as a whole.

The artwork is beautiful. Gorgeous colors and character proportions. I like how the two have linked arms and hold a diff objects.
'hua'/flower in calligraphy seems a tad shakey, otherwise it looks wonderful!! I still can't tell that it was written on a separate pg!

They seem to have very opposing personalities, one very seductive while the other is more introspective. Although I could be wrong, I'm gathering it from the VERY subtle differences in expression. The fact that you can express so much with that level of subtlety is something that surprises me... although it really shouldn't
The costumes and background are so vibrantly coloured, not to mention the oufits are just cool

If not nessasery,I sometimes just use markers to form the shape

They are fun characters, I trust that if you publish them in books in english and chinese you can get some really good sales. (see how well they do here.)
I wanted to do some real caligraphy for once, i used to trace the shapes.... but its all a different feel. In this one I did it with real brush, small size brush, the word "Spring" and "Flower" actually came out pretty good, the word "Autumn" is the problematic one. But aside from that... I am happy about it. ^_^
