You know how in a lot of anime/manga, in the middle of a fight there are moments where one character suddenly enters some kind of flashback or expository monologue, and nobody throws a punch for twenty minutes during the entire thing?
I HATE THEM.

I don't know if you've ever watched Avatar but in it the protagonist gets backshot in the middle of a powerup sequence, the spiritual cousin of the expository monologue.
