Quick-paint (so work entirely in ps, on one layer with the paintbrush without undo and without eraser)Did in about 1hour 10 minutes.
.....could be worse. His head is a bit too tilted orz. I think maybe fixing the hair on the upper left would help. Too late now though and I'm too lazy to fix it =A=

I'm so sad for Yuudai. He started out so nice and cheerful, then everything just went down and he ended up responsible for his friends' death and I cried.
I love this pic, I've always been a fan of the sketchier styles, and you've captured his guilt and sadness so perfectly. I want to hug him. >:

Haha, and I was.... kind of glad. I loved Juudai as the cheerful oblivious self, but... eh. It was monotoneous. His character got too little development, and my real love for him only started with Haou. ANd honestly? I love Haou so much more.
You are also wrong about the picture. It is not Juudai. It's Haou. It's Haou's pain, Haou's guilt, and Haou's sadness. Many people will disagree on me treating them as separate personalities or on Haou having such feelings but.. eh. Matter of personality interpretation, I guess....

I think it's awesome to find different people who like different things though. And I think they are separate personalities too, to begin with, at least. I've only just finished watching the anime and I haven't had the time to consider my own opinion yet, so I don't know if I think they became "one" later either. I mean, they all say Yuudai took Haou into him, and together they became the "complete" Yuudai. But from my point of view, they just used Jim's spiffy eye to surpress Haou to the point of which Yuudai could use his power without risking losing himself again. :/
I can't really decide which one I like better though. I guess I love them both as a whole. Yes, happy carefree Yuudai can be a bit annoying, and Haou can irk me too, but they're sort of an entity to me. Because they are one in a sense, and because they contrast so strongly, I find them both that much more enjoyable. :3

And yeah, the sentence about "taking him in" can also be thought off differently. I myself have two interpretations, one being the thing about him being just SEALED inside Juudai, another being him just... getting along with Juudai to the point where he doesn't get out, just sits like a good boy inside Juudai, so to speak... that's the interpretation I base my Embracing the Darkness doujin on
And lol he's... not annoying to me. But he just got monotoneous at some point :/ And I still like Edo the best, Haou is a close second only XDDD And Haou NEVER EVER IRKS ME DUH <3 But maybe I'm just stupid like that XD But I just... like Haou's personality more XDDDD
And lawl, a question... why do you actually write Juudai as Yuudai? 8o
I haven't been in this fandom for very long, so I can't say I've met any intolerant people just yet. Maybe because I'm keeping mostly to myself? I'm scared of the freaky stuff some people come up with... xD
But yeah, I think Haou was sealed inside Yuudai, not like, in the back of Yuudai's mind in a dark corner somewhere, but inside Yuudai, making them a part of each other on that level. But Yuudai never embraced him, and Haou never gave in, that's just the way it happened.
Edo's so cute in his white little suit being all epic and turning up whenever you least expect him. xD But I can't help but love Manjoume and Fubuki, they're far too charming to resist. And they can be badass when they want to, which makes me happy inside. <3
And yeah, I write Yuudai like so. :3 Because the japanese language doesn't have 'j', it only has 'y'. I'm still trying to find the proper way to write Manjoume's name without the 'j', though... And I tend to write Johan with a 'j', because it's not a japanese name, it's northern. I'm contradicting myself..? ^^'

...how the fuck Japanese doesn't have "j"? O.o; It HAS it, it doesn't have a separate "y" either but if you look at kana transcription of the name it's written with the "Ju" (prelonged u) "da" "i" O.o Same goes for everyone else, and Although Johan's name is transcribed in Japanese as "Yohan", it is correctly writte in romanji as "Johan" since it's an actual Western name. Just as Edo should be actually written as "Ed" >.>; Because his name is not japanese either. But generally... uh.... the correct writing is with "J" for Juudai and Manjoumne, if you ever went to a japanese site and saved pictures from there, then you can see that the files have their names written with "j" o.o

AUs are nice things. |3 Most of my favourite fanfictions are AUs. Though I haven't read much YuGiOh//GX, only Naruto and stuff... I'll have to spend an afternoon or two hunting for new material, yush. ;O
