An assignment for Gabe Bridwell's Layout and Design III class at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art. Also a bit of a personal project as I plan to use this for a real book I want to print at some point.

Yes, the title is supposed to bleed off the image.

For the assignment we had to create a cover for some kind of self-published book. The content had to reflect our art in general. I don't have much of this kind of work up on DA because most of what I do has to fall in line with whatever criteria is outlined in my assignments, but if I could spend as much time as I want working on whatever I want, you'd see a lot more of this type of stuff... Which, if I were to publish an art book, is all it would consist of.

Inspired in part by the intro to the 1981 Heavy Metal animated film. Reference used for the Cadillac body. No rulers, ellipse guides, circle templates, or french curves were used (woohoo!). Bonus points to whoever can find the easter egg.
