Well, it was an experimentation to see if I was able to paint more cleanly... I failed. But anyhow, it made me learned that I'm too impatient to paint like I draw. (Ignore the weird pose, I just wanted to test my coloration!)I love Mega Blastoise design by the way, in fact, I'm happy they had the chance to update old designs.

Yes, same opinion here with the official artwork and the in-game "sprite"! Love it really better there. Thank you, it was not as clean as I hoped, but it was cool to see what it gave off. (Even if it was not what I wanted)

My only issue with the new megas is Charizard's arm wings, because they make no sense functionally, and Blastoise's arm cannons, because the nice thing about the old designs was simplicity and it would look simple if he just had one big cannon that fucked people up hard rather than one big cannon with the unneeded supplement of two smaller ones.
Seriously it seems like they put the smaller ones on to make sure they weren't reducing the number of cannons, instead of making his new unicannon seem like it would tear down buildings with one shot.

For Charziard I agree entirely actually. I think if they were scales that would be fine, but wings? Looks odd. The rest looks decent enough though, it would be my favourite of the bunch.
For Blastoise I think it only was meant to be like a tank, like I can see some similarities between the WWI tanks of all things (or Warhammer 40K tanks). So, because of my fascination and bias towards that obviously I would like it more, but Mega blastoise sitll looks weird to me. I can see your reasoning though, and I can't fully disagree really. But then people would complain about one cannon maybe. Eh. I dunno. That's such a pointless thing to say sorry XD

It's just that I wanted a cleaner look but then I went crazy with the shadows and when I started t put hte colors on the grey scales it was not even close to clean haha

I don't care what you say, I think that pose looks pretty fucking dynamic. There's something about it that just......fits. I can't explain it.
By the way, I sent a link to this to a Youtuber [TheKingNappy; ever heard of him? He primarily covers Pokemon on his channel, going through ROM hacks, Egglockes, Co-Ops, and his take on the news updates for X and Y. A friend of his posted a video of their sort of...'live' reaction to watching the trailer that first premiered the new about the Kanto starters being available and having Mega-Evolutions, and his reaction toward Blastoise's form was pretty priceless....well, a lot of things he does is pretty priceless, he's a card. =w=] that I follow on Twitter who would probably appreciate the epicness of it all, because personally, I think it's awesome. The painting might not look 'clean', but I think the texture in it makes it even more cool. It fits the assumed 'ruggedness' of the Pokemon.Β
Anyway, I hope you don't feel too weirded out, or put on the spot about it; in fact I probably should have asked you first just to be polite, but don't worry. I made it quite clear that I didn't draw it, but rather, it was a friend [Oh hell, I hope that wasn't too presumptuous of me. Maybe I should have said acquaintance. It would have just sounded weird if I had said 'Oh, this artist I watch on dA did a really awesome painting of MegaBlastoise, figured you would appreciate it'. ...There's something about the word 'watch' that just makes it sound weird. Oh HELL, I probably should have thought this through. >.<], and on top of that, I sent him the link directly to this page, so I definitely didn't take credit for the thing, so in a way, I suppose you could say that I advertised you a bit. Again, I'm sorry, and I REALLY hope that you're not too affronted about it; I know I probably should have let you know beforehand, but I just got a bit excited and had to share this with SOMEONE, and he was the only person I could think of at the time who would appreciate it.
