Description
Maybe because everyone calls him albino when he kinda looks leucistic. IDK but this is our new "albino" black rat snake, Fargo. He's only been handled a few times so he's a bit jumpy, but I love him <3Related content

Ah soΒ leucistic is just white, without the red eyes. Gotcha.

Definitely leucistic. NOT albino. Whoever told you this snake was albino didn't know what they were talking about.

That's kinda how I feel. Even an amel or albino would have some pigmentation because the only pigment they lack is melanin, but birds and herpefauna have other pigments besides melanin and therefore retain some coloration. Leucism is the lack of ALL pigmentation so no markings would be present, as in the case of this guy. We previously had an amel (which is very similar to an albino but the processes (or lack thereof) that cause the mutation are different,) and she had faint markings. Buuuuut, they told me it's albino so I'll go with it XD

He is, but our other male rat snake, Onyx, is twice as thick and is around 6 feet in length. He's my baby at work.

WHY?!!!! They are adorable legless babus!
Actually, if you don't mind me asking, what is your reason? I've always been super fond of them so it's hard for me to relate to the fear of them by others. Did you have a traumatic experience with them or do you think they are nasty or is it the whole venom thing that some of them have going?

Traumatic experience? No. Do I think they're nasty? No. Venom? Slightly. They just kinda creep out a little. But it's only big snakes, small snakes are ok. This is actually true; I had an anaconda around my neck.

Aw man, around your neck? Man, I wouldn't do that XD But they can be a little creepy, I agree. I'm somewhat weirded out by the fact that they don't have eyelids. I like medium sized snakes <3
