Description Otherwise known as: "What I did while waiting for the Mother 3 fan-translation to complete"

Custom Lucas figure from Mother 3/Super Smash Bros. Brawl made from one of kidrobot's mini-munnys. Comes complete with rope snake and Mr. Saturn.

The sculpted parts were made from a mix of super-sculpey and kneadtite green stuff, the rope snake and Mr. Saturn were sculpted from left over green stuff. Airbrushed with Tamiya acrylics and hand-detailed with Testor's model masters.

The base is made from box picture frame and a printout of the Mother 3 deluxe edition box art.

Worked my ass off on this one, hope you like it

This is awesome! The resemblance between this and the actual character is amazing. And the little Mr. Saturn is so cute!

I too am waiting anxiously for the Mother 3 Translation. I cannot wait for that to come out!

after airbrushing, I spray the pieces with this stuff called Future Floor Acrylic, basically an acrylic protectant. You can find it in any supermarket. It has the added effect of making whatever you spray glossy.

hey scotty did you bake it at all?

MC-ScottyD In reply to drewisgenki [2008-06-30 03:48:58 +0000 UTC]

yes, the hair, nose, mouth and parts of the body were all done in sculpey then baked on at half the normal temp for double the time so they vinyl wouldn't melt

do you think that if i lined the vinyl with either wax paper or foil and baked the item on top it would work? ( i don't want it to be stuck to it first because the paint will bleed)

wax paper would probably melt, but foil could work. The only problem I see is that I think sculpey shrinks a little bit after curing, and that could make it hard to remove
